I took early retirement during the first COVID wave from a 30 year career with BT. My most recent work had been around business process efficiency. Currently I am a serving magistrate in the Family Courts in Northamptonshire as well as looking after our 3 grandchildren- 2 of who attend the school. I’m delighted to be appointed and very much look forward to being part of such a successful and positive school environment	I was co-opted on to the governing body in October 2018. I am a Parish Councillor and hope to continue to form strong links between the school and council. I am interested in all aspects of school life especially early years and special educational needs and disabilities.		My connection with Cosby Primary School began as a parent more than thirty years ago, when my son started school at the annexe (now Brook House School) on Croft Road which housed some of the Reception, Year 1 & Year 2 pupils. I have recently retired from a career in education. I have taught in several primary schools and have always had an interest in the learning of mathematics. This has led to roles in teacher education; working for Leicestershire County Council as an advisor and as an associate tutor at the Universities of Leicester & Northampton. I became a Governor at the school in 2016 and have enjoyed the opportunity to work alongside committed staff and governors who are determined to ensure an excellent education for all the children at the school.

I joined the Governing Body in June 2019 and am a member of the Management Committee. I have previously been involved in Information Technology in the military and also various technical and management roles in industry. I have a keen interest in the early access to technology and introduction to programming for primary school pupils. I am currently involved with the local hackspace and I manage the finances and running of the space. I have 2 grandchildren who attend the school. I believe that a safe, welcoming and learning environment is something that I can contribute to resulting in happy and successful children.	I joined the Governing Body as a parent governor in March 2024 on the teaching and learning committee, and have two children who attend the school. My interests are in all aspects of school life, in particular developing practical skills & interests that will enhance each child’s time at school and also enrich their life beyond; such as in music, arts & sports. I am lucky enough to have a profession that is also my passion; managing an organisation that gives children the best opportunity to be physically literate, active and healthy. I strongly believe that happy, healthy children learn better and have a greater chance of success. I look forward to the opportunity of working with the staff and governors in helping the school to be successful, giving pupils the opportunity to thrive and families to feel valued and supported.	Rosie was a staff governor of Cosby Primary School for nine years. Having retired from her role as Assistant Head she continues to support the school as a Co-opted Governor on the Governing Body. She is presently a member of the Finance Committee. Before entering the teaching profession, she trained and worked as an archaeologist and this links with her responsibility as a governor for History. She believes in the value of outdoor and practical activities in extending children’s learning and in the development of the school grounds for use as a stimulating learning environment.	Lee has been a governor since 2014, moving to the village the previous year. He has two children, one of whom attends the school. Lee has a background in commercial banking and sits upon the finance committee.

I joined the governing body as a parent governor on the Teaching and Learning committee in 2021. I am interested in all aspects of school life, in particularly safeguarding and encouraging girls in sport and confidence. My current work as a psychological coach, along with my previous professional experience in the Youth Offending and Probation Services provide valuable expertise to bring to the school and I am grateful for the opportunity to work with the staff and other governors to make our school the best it can be.	Chelsee has been a governor since December 2019. She joined as a parent governor when her child joined Cosby Primary. She sits within the management committee and is committed to ensure that children are safeguarded within education and is pleased to be have the opportunity to work alongside the committed staff at the school. Chelsee works closely with the early years provision within the school. She is a Senior Social Work Practitioner who works within a child protection team for the Local Authority and has many years of experience in safeguarding children and families and child development. Chelsee has a passion to ensure all children are given opportunities to be the best version of themselves and supports families to create changes required to keep children safe and happy.	My connection to Cosby is through my two boys; one with SEN needs within the school. I am very passionate about education and SEN needs, and making school a place everyone wants to be at! I work within product/data analyst in my day job and have been within the company for 6 years. I look forward to working alongside the committee and school to succeed.
